In chemical production, wastewater treatment, and salt lake resource development, the precise removal of chloride ions has always been a key factor in determining product quality and environmental compliance. Chloride-containing solutions are often characterized by strong corrosiveness, a high tendency to emulsify, and a small density difference between the two liquid phases. Traditional mixer settlers not only suffers from slow phase separation and insufficient extraction efficiency, but also faces long-term challenges such as accelerated equipment corrosion and significant solvent entrainment losses.
With its rapid mass transfer and efficient phase separation under a centrifugal force field, centrifugal extraction technology has become a core solution to these challenges. The CWL-M Series Centrifugal Extractor, independently developed by Zhengzhou Tiei Extraction, has been specially optimized for the unique requirements of chloride extraction processes, providing complete equipment solutions from laboratory research to full-scale industrial production.
Centrifugal Extraction Technology
The chloride separation process typically consists of the following four closely connected steps:
Pretreatment: The chloride-containing feed solution is first finely filtered to remove suspended solids, and the pH is precisely adjusted to create optimal conditions for the subsequent complexation reaction.
Complexation Extraction: The pretreated aqueous phase is rapidly mixed with a dedicated extractant inside the CWL-M Centrifugal Extractor, forming micron-sized droplets that greatly increase the interfacial contact area between the two phases. This ensures a complete complexation reaction and promotes the efficient transfer of chloride ions into the organic phase.
Centrifugal Phase Separation: Driven by a centrifugal field of several thousand times the force of gravity, the two phases are rapidly separated within seconds. The chloride ion concentration remaining in the raffinate is significantly reduced, meeting the requirements of downstream processing.
Stripping and Solvent Regeneration: The loaded organic phase is sent to the stripping stage, where the extractant is regenerated for reuse, keeping solvent consumption at an extremely low level.
Key Advantages of the CWL-M Centrifugal Extractor
1.Efficient Mass Transfer and Rapid Phase Separation
The unique rotor design provides more thorough contact between the two liquid phases while achieving phase separation much faster than traditional mixer-settlers, significantly shortening the extraction cycle.
2.Corrosion-Resistant Design
CWL-M Centrifugal Extractor adopts an upper single-support suspension structure that eliminates bottom bearings and mechanical seals, fundamentally preventing leakage. Wetted parts can be manufactured from perfluoropolymer materials to withstand highly corrosive media such as hydrochloric acid and hypochlorous acid, extending equipment service intervals.
3.Fully Enclosed Operation
The completely enclosed system effectively suppresses the evaporation of organic solvents, improves the operating environment, reduces extractant losses, and lowers operating costs.
4.Intelligent Control
Integrated with a PLC automatic control system, the equipment enables real-time monitoring of key operating parameters, including rotational speed, temperature, and flow rate. It also supports remote operation and data recording to meet the digital management requirements of modern chemical plants.
5.Complete Product Range and Easy Scale-Up
The CWL-M Series Centrifugal Extractor offers a wide range of processing capacities, enabling seamless transition from laboratory testing and pilot-scale trials to full industrial production, with low process scale-up risk.
For chloride separation projects, the CWL-M Centrifugal Extractor not only improves extraction efficiency and phase separation performance, but also provides comprehensive advantages in equipment durability, solvent recovery, and operational safety. Whether for new production lines or the upgrading of existing facilities, the CWL-M Series Centrifugal Extractor can be flexibly integrated to help enterprises achieve stable production and efficient resource utilization.
