During the production and processing in chemical plants, a large amount of printing and dyeing organic wastewater is generated. According to statistics, more than 400 tons of printing and dyeing organic wastewater are directly discharged into natural water bodies every day worldwide. This has caused serious environmental pollution and poses great risks to human health. By using the solvent extraction method to extract organic substances as a pretreatment step, followed by biochemical treatment, the pollution level of the wastewater can be significantly reduced.

There are many methods for treating organic printing and dyeing wastewater in chemical plants. Traditional treatment methods are often complicated in operation, costly in equipment, and less effective. Long-term experiments have shown that the solvent extraction method achieves good pretreatment results for printing and dyeing wastewater. For treatment equipment, centrifugal extraction units developed and manufactured by Zhengzhou Tiei Extraction can be selected. Laboratory-scale extraction experiments have demonstrated high extraction efficiency, meeting the requirements of the subsequent biochemical treatment stage.

The Tiei Extraction CWL50-M laboratory centrifugal extractor is selected for the experiment. And a suitable and efficient extractant is selected through tests. The extractant and the printing and dyeing wastewater are fed into the centrifugal extractor. In the mixing zone formed between the drum and the shell, the rotation of the drum rapidly mixed and dispersed the two phases through the turbine disc and impeller, achieving sufficient mass transfer between the two phases and completing the mixing and mass transfer process. The mixed liquid then undergoes phase separation under the action of centrifugal force.

The separated organic-loaded phase required back-extraction to recover and recycle the extractant. The organic-loaded phase and an alkaline agent are injected into the centrifugal extractor in proportion for back-extraction, allowing the solvent to be recovered and reused, thereby completing the entire experiment.

The extraction process requires continuous operation with a continuous extraction unit. Through multi-stage extraction, printing and dyeing wastewater can be effectively pretreated and then sent to subsequent biochemical treatment. The experimental setup is a laboratory-scale unit, which uses only a small amount of feed solution to obtain relevant data. Based on the experimental results, technical personnel can design industrial-scale equipment solutions and provide customers with professional technical support.
